Floral arrangement ‘Summer Fireworks’ (2 plants)

Summer Fireworks Ornamental Allium Mix (Allium, mixed varieties) brings together magnificent ornamental onions with large white and purple globe-shaped flower heads that resemble dazzling summer fireworks. Carried on long, sturdy stems above blue-green foliage, the blooms add height, structure, and airy elegance to garden plantings. Flowering extends from May through July, depending on the varieties, and the ornamental seed heads remain attractive long after the flowers have faded. Reaching approximately 50 cm (20 in) tall, this hardy perennial, suitable to Zone 6, returns reliably each year when the bulbs are planted in well-drained soil.

Plant the bulbs in autumn before the ground freezes, approximately 10 cm (4 in) deep and 15 to 20 cm (6 to 8 in) apart. Choose an open, sunny location with light, fertile, neutral to slightly alkaline, and well-drained soil. Water lightly after planting, then moderately during active growth, avoiding standing water that may cause bulb rot. A light application of compost or bulb fertilizer in spring helps support abundant flowering. Always allow the foliage to yellow naturally so the bulbs can replenish their energy reserves for the following season.

The Summer Fireworks mix is perfect for sunny flower beds, borders, rock gardens, naturalistic landscapes, and deep containers at least 30 cm (12 in) deep. Pair it with irises, salvias, peonies, catmints, or ornamental grasses to create elegant, architectural displays. Its nectar-rich flowers attract bees, butterflies, and many other pollinators, helping support garden biodiversity. The decorative flower heads also have excellent vase life and can be dried for long-lasting floral arrangements. However, the flowers are grown for ornamental purposes and are not intended for consumption.
